A new look

HDR Image of Illinois Capitol

A lot of my pictures are coming off my phone these days. It is certainly not an ideal camera, but it serves well and is always with me.  I found this new application that lets meet make HDR photos in situ.  Perhaps not the best at it, but a fun start.  I may invest in the more robust version later, but for now it is interesting.  Here is this morning's view of the capitol using this new application.  I love the way the details in the foreground are visible while the sky is a lovely deep blue.  For comparison, the stock shot is posted below.

This weekend we were privileged to enjoy a relaxing day "at home."  We visited the Fine Art Fair at Edwards Place and I found the perfect opportunity to try out a new application on my camera phone.  I wasn't sure which image I liked better, so I included them both. These are as processed by the application.

Beautiful light

This morning the sunrise on the capitol was simply too beautiful. The orange tinted light combined with the moon hanging perfectly in the sky reminds me of why I love this time of the year.

Let it Snow!

I walked to work today amid a winter wonderland. Huge flakes fell softly from the skies as I made my way across twinkling sidewalks. It was the sort of winter fairyland that one dreams of. As I arrived at my office, I stopped to gaze at the capitol through the curtain of white. An hour later, I was out into the snow again, this time to catch an image as the sun rose.
